Storm Henk sees five Cambridgeshire roads closed to traffic as Met Office weather warnings remain in force
At least five Cambridgeshire roads are also closed due to flooding as Storm Henk batters the county today (Tuesday, January 2). The following roads are shut according to Cambridgeshire[1] County Council: Main Street, Hamerton, New Road, Wood Walton, Bridge Street, Wistow, Infield Road, Glatton and High Street, Offord Darcey. A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: “Please allow extra time for your journey and do not attempt to drive through flood water.”
A number of flood alerts are in force across the count – with people in three areas urged to act now after flood warnings were issued. Cambridgeshire Police has urged people to drive to conditions on the roads. A spokesperson added: “Please take care whilst travelling – allow extra time for your journey and drive to the condition of the road.” Met Office yellow weather warnings for rain and wind are in force until 9pm.
An amber warning for wind is in place until 8pm.
