Stretch of A27 closed after serious crash

A stretch of the A27 in East Sussex is closed in both directions following a “serious” crash, police have said.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash between Falmer and Lewes at about 03:00 GMT on Tuesday.

The road will remain closed in both directions for some time to allow for forensics and recovery, Sussex Police said.

“We only get one opportunity to do this, and we thank you for your patience and understanding,” a police spokesman said.
