Teen, 16, missing after ‘planning to meet stranger’
A teenage girl has been missing for nearly two days. The mother of 16-year-old Amy Jenking has said she is worried sick after being unable to reach her daughter. On Saturday, Kathryn Jenking, from Launceston[1], said her daughter disappeared after being told she wasn’t allowed to leave the house at 6pm.
She had been unable to reach or get hold of her since, and it appears her phone has been switched off. She said her daughter is usually really good at staying in contact no matter where she goes but her phone has been switched off since she left the family home almost two days ago to meet someone she had never met before. Devon and Cornwall Police[2] has confirmed it is aware Amy is missing.
“I just want her home now and I’m thinking all sorts,” she told CornwallLive.[5] “Nothing else matters I just want her home and safe and to get hold of me.”
“Her phone got turned on yesterday for three minutes at 7pm and then it was off again so I’m not sure she’s even got her phone,” she explained. “She’s got nothing at all with her just what she was wearing.”

“Her phone has been off all night and I’m sick with worry now,” she said. Amy, who has short black hair but wears a clip in ponytail, is believed to be wearing a black top and bottoms. She also left the house wearing black Air Jordan 4 trainers and a beige Zavetti coat.
She’s described as 5ft 9 and is of slim build. “She could be in Plymouth[6], St Austell[7] or Camborne[8],” added Kathryn who said Amy has “lots of friends” owing to them moving around quite a bit.
We’ve lived everywhere pretty much and she’s got lots of friends so could be anywhere,” she said.
