Teens arrested as police close road after serious crash
Two teenagers have been arrested after a serious crash in Anfield[1]. At around 7.30pm on Thursday, January 11 an officer spotted two teens, not wearing helmets, on an electric bike on Priory Road. The officer signalled for them to stop and the two teens came off the bike.[2][3]
The rider, a 17-year-old, suffered serious injuries to his legs and head, which are not believed to be life threatening. The pillion passenger ran off into Anfield Cemetery but was caught by police a short time later.
The passenger was also taken to hospital for treatment to some injuries.
The driver, a a 17-year-old male from Abergele, North Wales, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and possession of a Class B controlled drug. The passenger suffered superficial injuries and has been discharged from hospital. He has been arrested[6] on suspicion of a possession of a Class B controlled drug and has been taken to a police station where he will be questioned by detectives. Chief Inspector[7] Tom Welch said: “I would like to take this opportunity to ask any motorists who were driving along Priory Road and witnessed the incident or captured it on dash cam footage to call us, as information they have could assist us with our enquiries.
