Tesco announces change to cut the price of your weekly shopping
Tesco has cut the price of more than 150 everyday items by an average of 12.5% to help customers reduce the cost of their weekly shop. Tesco[1] has focused on products that families put in their trolleys week in week out, spanning fresh fruit and veg as well as cupboard staples like coffee, bolognese sauce and cereal. The latest price cuts include:
. Tesco Strawberries (227g) – down 30p to GBP2.00 .
Tesco Blueberries (250g) – down 35p to GBP2.65 . Tesco British Pork Sausages (8 pack 454g) – down 30p to GBP2.00
. Tesco Large pineapple (each) – down 50p to GBP1.30 .
Tesco Gold Instant Coffee (200g) – down 50p to GBP2.50 . Tesco Squeezy Clear Honey (340g) – down 24p to GBP1.25
. Tesco Honey Nut Cornflakes – down 25p to GBP1.25 .
Tesco Bolognese Pasta Sauce (500g) – down 16p to GBP0.79 . Tesco Sugarsnap Peas (180g) – down 20p to GBP1.10
. Tesco Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce (420g) – down 5p to 45p Tesco Group Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Prasad, said: “After the expense of Christmas[2], January can really stretch family budgets and families are looking for great value more than at any other time.
By focusing our price cuts on truly popular items, customers will find it’s even easier to spend less at Tesco.” This is the latest move to help Tesco customers save on their weekly shop. Yesterday, Tesco announced that customers will earn double Clubcard points when they shop for the next seven weeks.
On top of this, Tesco is committing to lock the prices of more than a thousand everyday products until Easter 2024.
For families visiting stores, Tesco will also be bringing back its Kids Eat Free scheme to 314 cafes across the UK over the half term holiday from 12 – 23 Feb.
The scheme offers a free children’s meal when a paying adult presents their Clubcard and spends as little as 60p in the cafe.
