Thieves follow FedEx truck, steal phone package in Bay Village

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO) – Two FedEx packages containing two new Apple I-phones were stolen off a homeowner’s porch just minutes after they were delivered, Bay Village police said.

According to officers, the theft happened Jan.

9 on Oakmoor Road.

Police contacted FedEx about the theft and were told a number of FedEx drivers have reported suspicious vehicles/persons following their delivery trucks throughout the country and attempting to steal cellular phones after they are delivered.

The Bay Village resident also told police they did notice two suspicious vehicles in the area shortly after the theft, a black SUV and a white pickup truck.
