There were no reported injuries but it took half an hour for the road to be cleared to allow traffic to start moving again. One eyewitness said: The traffic was at a stand still and there was a police car.” “Traffic was also end-to-end up Weymouth Avenue, so I swung last minute up the A35and the traffic was backed up to Tesco from Monkey’s Jump as well.
I don’t know what was going on, but that was three roads at a stop at around 6.20pm.” A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 5.51pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2023, of a single vehicle collision on the A354 at Monkton Hill. “Officers attended and there were no reports of any injuries.
The road was cleared and police left the scene at around 6.20pm.
Yesterday morning saw more traffic chaos as a perfect storm storm created by a campervan on its side on Monkton Hill, roadworks on Littlemoor Road, and the closure of Church Street in Upwey caused traffic to come to gridlock.[1]
