Two-car crash at Berkshire Mall traffic light sends adult and child to the hospital
LANESBOROUGH — A rear-end crash involving a Mazda CX-5 and a Toyota RAV4 on Monday morning sent an adult and child to Berkshire Medical Center. Both SUVs were headed northbound on Route 8 at around 10:30 a.m. when the Toyota stopped at the light at the Connector Road intersection and was rear-ended by the Mazda, according to Lanesborough Police Chief Robert J. Derksen.
This Toyota RAV4 was rear-ended at the traffic light at the Berkshire Mall.

Lanesborough Ambulance, Lanesborough Volunteer Fire Department and Adams Ambulance Service responded to the scene near the Berkshire Mall entrance.
The driver of the Mazda and the passenger in that vehicle, a child, were taken to Berkshire Medical Center as a precaution. The two occupants of the Toyota were evaluated on the scene but were not injured, Derksen said. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.
A Cheshire police officer directed traffic as the accident was investigated.
With heavy front-end damage to the Mazda and back-end damage to the Toyota, both cars were towed from the scene by Village Truck Sales.
