Two dead as Corsa and Audi collide on A44 in Egdon, Worcestershire
Two drivers died after two cars collided on a country road in Worcestershire[1]. The crash took place on the A44 near Egdon, shortly after midnight on Sunday, January 14. A silver Vauxhall Corsa and a black Audi A3 were in collision on the A road to the south east of Worcester[2].
Emergency services rushed to the incident but the drivers of both vehicles, both men, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, a man and a woman, in the Audi were taken Worcestershire Royal Hospital and treated for minor injuries. West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] said it was called to the A44, near Egdon, Worcester, at 12.32am and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT (Medical Emergency Response and Intervention Team) trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Two men have died following a two-car road traffic collision in Worcestershire in the early hours of Sunday morning.
On arrival crews discovered four patients. “One of whom, a man who was driving one of the cars, was found to have suffered serious injuries in the incident. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“A second man, also a driver, was found to be in a critical condition. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, he was also confirmed dead at the scene. A further man, and a woman, were assessed and treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.”

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a Black Audi A3. “The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the Audi A3 were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed or has dash-cam footage of either the collision itself or either vehicle in minutes before the collision.
