Two killed in separate accidents in Umaria
Jabalpur: Two persons were killed while three people sustained injuries in two separate accidents in Umaria district on Sunday.The first incident occurred near Kolua Bah square, close to the Bandhavgarh tiger reserve area. Two individuals, Basanta Baiga, 25, and Raj Baiga, 22, lost their lives when their motorcycle was struck by a truck under the jurisdiction of Manpur police station. The deceased were en route to Gurwahi village from Bijauri village in the company of Pushpa Baiga, their sister-in-law.
The speeding truck collided with their motorcycle, causing Basanta Baiga to pass away at the scene. Raj Baiga succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital, while Pushpa Baiga sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical attention. A case has been registered at the Manpur police station.In the second incident, a car collided with a tree in the Kotwali police station area at approximately 6 am on Sunday.
The accident occurred near Tamanarra village on Shahpura road. A family, traveling from Katni to Raipur for a marriage function, experienced the collision, resulting in three individuals sustaining severe injuries. The safety airbags in the car deployed, preventing a more catastrophic outcome.
