Two people taken to hospital after car collides with stationary vehicle and overturns in Seaton Delaval
Two people have been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a stationary vehicle and overturned in Northumberland[1]. Emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Hartburn Terrace, in Seaton Delaval, at around 12.30pm on Tuesday. Paramedics transported two people to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed for a number of hours between the A192 and Park Road while emergency services were in attendance. A Northumbria Police[2] spokesperson said: "Just after 12.30pm today (Tuesday), police received a report of a collision on Hartburn Terrace in Seaton Delaval in Northumberland. "It was reported that a vehicle has struck a second stationary vehicle parked on the road causing it to roll over, trapping the occupants.
Emergency services attended, and safely freed the two occupants of the vehicle which were both transported to hospital with minor injuries. "The road is currently closed, and local diversions are currently in place. Road users are advised to expect minor delays."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 12.30pm on January 9 to reports of a road traffic incident on the A192 in Seaton Deleval. We dispatched two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and were supported by our colleagues at the police and the fire service. "Two patients were taken to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) for further treatment."
