Urban motorway blocked by bus after driver’s medical emergency

Wellington.ScoopThe right northbound lane of the urban motorway was blocked for almost three hours this morning just before the Ngauranga turnoff. NZTA reported at 9.30 that the lane was blocked by a crash.

It released a photo showing a bus stopped against a safety barrier. RNZ quoted Metlink as saying a bus driver experienced a medical emergency which forced him to stop on the road. The Mana Coach Services bus was not in service and no passengers were on board.

At 12.15pm, NZTA said all lanes northbound had reopened and delays were easing.
