Uxbridge Road near Rickmansworth shut after tanker overturns
Herts Police shut the Denham Way roundabout at the junction with Uxbridge Road this morning. Herts Police have confirmed they were called to the scene of a crash in the road at 10.49am today (January 5). Both the police force and fire service attended the scene.
Hertfordshire Highways has warned that members of the public should “avoid the area”. Uxbridge Road is expected to remain closed both ways “for some time”, according to Three Rivers Police on social media, however one lane has been opened at the roundabout allowing access from M25 junction 17 to Maple Cross. The force clarified that the tanker “is not a petrol tanker and poses no danger to members of the public”.
Google Maps is displaying congested traffic across the length of Uxbridge Road, between Rickmansworth and the Denham Way roundabout.
Update: The road was reopened by 4pm and Herts Police confirmed that no one was injured.
