Warrant issued for suspect named after car crashes into shop

Footage from in-store CCTV at Kranzle Aquaspray in June showed a vehicle ploughing into the business, causing extensive damage. The firm, based on Causeway Park off Wilderspool Causeway, supplies pressure washers, round cleaners, washer accessories, spare parts, power sweepers and vacuum cleaners. It was reported that a vehicle was ‘doing doughnuts’ in the car park before the crash.

Owners were alerted to the incident through CCTV and alarms, with damage estimated to be at least tens of thousands of pounds. Dimitar Stoyanov has now been charged by postal requisition with drink-driving and failing to stop after a road accident. The particulars of the former allege that the 27-year-old, of Wilderspool Causeway, as the driver of black BMW 5-series on June 6 on Causeway Park, failed to stop following an accident whereby damage was caused to the outside wall of Aquaspray.

The latter charge alleges that on the same date, Stoyanov drove the BMW after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his blood, namely 126 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the drink driving alcohol limit for drivers is 80 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. Stoyanov was due to make a first appearance in relation to the charges before Warrington Magistrates’ Court between Christmas and New Year but failed to attend.

Following his no-show, magistrates issued a bench warrant for his arrest without bail, with Cheshire Police confirming that this warrant is still active. A force spokesman at the time of the incident said: “At 12.59am on Saturday, June 10, police were called to a collision on Causeway Park, Central Road. “A car had collided with the front of a shop causing substantial damage.

“A 27-year-old man was located and arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, criminal damage and failing to stop at a collision. “He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.” A business spokesman told the Warrington Guardian at the time: “We initially thought the shop had been ram-raided.

“The police response time was awesome, and officers were there within minutes of the call.”
