Where are the mobile speed cameras located this month?
Speed camera enforcement is operated across the county seven days a week in an aim to improve driver behaviour. Each month, the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership (LRSP) release a list of enforcement sites where mobile speed vans will be located, helping motorists drive at an appropriate and safe speed within designated limits. Cameras use highly accurate laser technology to detect speeding motorists but they are also used to identify other offences, including drivers not in proper control or not wearing a seat belt.
For the vast majority of drivers who abide by speed limits there is nothing to worry about, but for the small minority who think the law doesn’t apply to them, there could be a nasty surprise coming through the letterbox. All mobile sites are risk assessed for safety and the LRSP vary how often they attend different locations with sites based on casualty data, known speeding concerns, where a report has been made directly by a member of the public concerned about speeding issues in their area, along with any location that has a fixed roadside camera. The LRSP will aim to visit the following list of locations during January 2024.
