Wiltshire Air Ambulance lands in Westbury cul-de-sac
A woman injured herself in a fall on Rosefield Way in Westbury on Saturday afternoon, sparking the emergency response. Police community support officers nearby offered support before controlling the traffic around the area while members of the public also helped comfort the woman. A land ambulance was called to the scene before Wiltshire Air Ambulance also attended, landing on Farleigh Close.
The woman was given medical care by emergency workers before being taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath while her family was made aware of what happened. A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We came across members of the public caring for an elderly female who had fallen on Rosefield Way. “Colleagues from land and air ambulance gave incredible medical care to the female and took her off to RUH.
Her family are aware.
“A huge well done to the wonderful residents in and around Rosefield Way who went above and beyond to help the patient and clear cars from the road.
“Thank you to other members of the public who were passing through for their patience when the road became very busy.”
