Wiltshire crash sees driver suffer ‘life-changing’ injuries
The serious collision took place on the B4192 near Upper Apham, between Aldbourne and Swindon, at around 7.30am on Monday, January 15.[1] A van was involved in the smash and the driver, a man in his 60s, suffered leg injuries that police have described as potentially life-changing. Police closed the road for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident but have now reopened the route.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 7.30am this morning, officers responded following a serious vehicle collision on the B4192 near Upper Apham, Aldbourne, involving a van. “The driver, a man in his 60s, suffered potentially life-changing leg injuries and has been taken to hospital.
“Any witnesses are asked to contact us via our website or on 101 quoting log 41 of today’s date.” While the road has now reopened, and been gritted by Wiltshire Council, officers warned that the surface remains icy. A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added: “Despite the sunshine, this stretch is still very icy.
“It has been gritted by our colleagues at Wiltshire Council but please do drive with caution and to the road conditions.
Thank you.”
