Woman, 27, cut from car after crash outside Royal Oldham Hospital

A 27-year-old woman was rescued and cut from a car following a crash outside the Royal Oldham[1] Hospital on Tuesday evening (January 9). Police, paramedics and fire crews attended the collision, involving two vehicles, at around 7pm on Sheepfoot Lane in Oldham. The road was closed off for around an hour as emergency services responded.

A woman, aged 27, was rescued from one of the vehicles involved as fire crews used specialist cutting equipment. She was taken to hospital from the scene. The nature of her condition is not yet known but her injuries are not thought to be considered life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "Just before 7pm this evening (Tuesday 9th January), two fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton[3] fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit, were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Sheepfoot Lane, Oldham. "Crews arrived quickly at the scene.

Firefighters used cutting equipment, a saw and lighting to rescue a 27-year-old woman from one of the vehicles, before she was taken to the hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour."
