Woman (40s) Dies and Two Children Injured After Kildare Crash

A woman in her 40's has died and two children have been injured, after a road crash on the Kildare/Meath border. It happened at Cloncurry Cross between Kilcock and Enfield on the R148. The woman died when the car she was driving was involved in a collision with a van at around 6:15pm on Tuesday.

Two young children who were travelling with her were taken to CHI Crumlin in Dublin, where their conditions are described as 'serious but stable'. The male driver of the van was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The road is expected to be closed for most of Wednesday morning with diversions in place as Gardai carry out a technical exam.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

While a man in his 20s was killed in a crash on the M7 in Kildare on Monday night.
