Woman facing multiple charges in crash of stolen vehicle in Joplin

Jan.

5--A Jefferson City woman is facing an array of charges in connection with a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at Second and Wall streets in Joplin. Police say a 25-year-old woman was driving westbound on Second Street when a northbound car ran a stop sign and struck her vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle then left the scene on foot.

Officers subsequently located the suspect near Fourth Street and Joplin Avenue and took her into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of the accident. Police Capt. William Davis said additional charges were filed when it was learned that her driver's license was revoked, the car had been stolen and she proved to be combative with officers.
