Woman rushed to hospital after police incident shuts part of M60

A woman was taken to hospital after police were called over concerns for her welfare on the M60[1] this morning. Police and paramedics were called to the clockwise carriageway of the motorway near junction 27 and junction one in Stockport[2] at around 8.45am. Two lanes were closed off[3] as emergency crews responded. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police[4] said the woman was taken to hospital after suffering injuries 'not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing'.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At approximately 8:45am today (Thursday 4 January 2024), officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare of a woman on the M60 near junction 27/junction 1.

"She has since been taken to hospital with injuries, although these are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing."
