Young Man City fan punched in face and left covered in blood as police investigate incident
Police are investigating after a young Manchester City fan was left covered in blood after being punched in the face. The incident happened ahead of City's win over Huddersfield[1] Town in the FA Cup[2] third round on Saturday. A brawl broke out on a Metrolink tram service heading towards the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Footage of the fight showed two youngsters being punched in the head by yobs in one of the tram's carriages. One of the victims kept his hands over his face to block the blows being delivered. The other youngster though was seen with blood pouring from his face as he gripped the railings for support.
He was wearing a City shirt, with the other passengers screaming "Leave him, leave it" as the victims' friends tried to stop the attack.
