A young man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a serious crash on New Year’s Day morning.
Advertisement [7] Police were called to Blackburn Road, outside the Swan Inn, just after 1.25am on January 1 after reports a Suzuki moped had left the road and collided with a wall. The man, in his 20s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
Police are now appealing for information regarding what led to the collision and have issued a public appeal. Advertisements A spokesperson for police said: “As a result of the collision, a man in his 20’s suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what led to the collision are ongoing. We would ask any witnesses or anybody with any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage which would help our investigation to contact the police as soon as possible. “Email us at [email protected] or call 101 quoting log 186 of 1st January 2024.”
