Emergency services called to crash on M20 between junction 10 and 11

An air ambulance has been called to a “serious” crash involving a lorry which has closed part of the M20.

Police officers and paramedics are on the scene of the accident between Junction 10a for Ashford and Junction 11 for Hythe.

The coastbound carriageway is closed due to the ongoing police-led incident and is expected to be shut throughout the day.

Traffic on the London-bound carriageway is also being held to allow the air ambulance to land.

The force’s roads unit has released the following statement: “Patrols are currently dealing with a serious RTC on the M20.

“The road is likely to be closed for some time.”

Officers were called at about 7.45am.

Traffic is queuing and being diverted off the motorway along the A20 to rejoin at junction 11.
