Family pay tribute to lorry driver who died on M27 near Eastleigh

Michal Kaminski died in a horrific crash on the M27 near Eastleigh last Wednesday after the Mercedes lorry he was driving collided with a Nissan Juke and a Volkswagen Polo. 

The 36-year-old driver from Salisbury had been delivering flooring on the South Coast at the time. 

A week on, his family have now paid tribute to him saying he will always be in their hearts. 

In a statement, they said: “In loving memory of Michal Kaminski, who died in a tragic crash on the M27 on 21st of February 2024. 

“You will always be in our hearts and we will always remember you smiling. 

“Loving family and friends.”

His family are being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is underway after the crash at 12.30pm. 

A 32-year-old man from Yapton, Arundel, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and of drink driving. A 40-year-old woman from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, of drink driving, and of drug driving. A 37-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

All three have been released on bail until May 21. 

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
