A four-month-old baby tragically lost his life in a head-on car crash in Leeds, which also left two women and a man injured. The police are now appealing for witnesses after the baby boy, who was involved in the collision, passed away in hospital.

The accident happened on the A1620 Horsforth Road near Rodley around 4.55pm on Monday, reports the Mirror[1]. The baby boy was critically injured in the crash, with police initially reporting he had life-threatening injuries before sadly confirming his death.

The crash involved a Vauxhall Vivaro van travelling northbound on the A1620 when it collided head-on with a Toyota Auris. A 54 year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been released on bail.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that two women from the Toyota and a man from the Vivaro were taken to hospital for treatment. They stated: "The incident involved a Vauxhall Vivaro van which was travelling northbound when it was in a head-on collision with a Toyota Auris." They added: "Two women from the Toyota and a man from the Vivaro were also taken to hospital for treatment.
