Live M25 traffic updates as oil spill, broken down car and accident cause delays

Traffic Cameras show that queues are building on the M25 anticlockwise after an oil spillage in the area. Separately, there is also a broken down car and an accident.

National Highways have tweeted that motorists can expect delays of at least 50 minutes and need to allow extra journey time. The organisation says service providers and Traffic Officers are in attendance.

The incident that was first logged at 3.45pm has already caused all traffic to be held briefly. Lanes one and two (of four) have been closed rom J6 A22 (Godstone) to Clacket Lane Services.

Already today a multi-vehicle crash caused five miles of traffic from from junction 8 for the A217 (Reigate) to junction 9 for the A243 (Leatherhead). Follow our live blog below for updates.
