Live: M4 traffic stopped after crash near Bristol
Diversion Route
The M4 in Gloucestershire is closed westbound between J19 (M32/ near Bristol) and J20 (M5/ near Almondsbury) due to a serious collision. Emergency services including Avon and Somerset Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
Diversion Route
Road users are advised to follow the Solid Triangle diversion symbol on road signs
- Exit the M4 westbound at J19 and at the roundabout take the first exit onto the M32, towards Bristol.
- Exit the M32 at J1 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A4174 westbound, towards Filton.
- Remain on the A4174 for approximately 2 miles to the junction with the A38/Filton roundabout at Filton.
- Take the third exit at the Filton roundabout onto the A38 northbound, towards Almondsbury.
- Remain on the A38 for approximately 3 miles to the M5 J16 and join the M5.
- Take the first exit to join the M5 south towards the South West or the third exit onto the M5 north towards J16 to re-join the M4.
