Lorry overturned on A55 in Chester as driver walks away unscathed
The driver of an HGV that overturned on the A55 walked away unscathed. The lorry overturned on the A55 North Wales Expressway southbound near Huntington at 4.18pm yesterday (February 19).
Emergency services raced to the scene, but when they arrived they found the driver of the small lorry was unhurt and not trapped. The road was closed in both directions until 6.30pm, with recovery teams working.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service warned motorists to stay away from the scene, taking to Twitter/X to say: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a collision involving a small lorry on the A55 Caldy Valley, Chester[1]. The road is closed in both directions, please avoid the area if possible."

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At 4.18pm on Monday 19 February, police received reports of an incident on the A55 southbound near Huntington. The incident involved a HGV which had overturned. There were no reports of any injuries. The road was closed while recovery was carried out and reopened by 6.30pm."
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "When our fire engines arrived at the scene it was found that they weren’t actually needed as nobody was trapped so the incident was handed over to the police."
