Police have launched a probe into the episode involving an Audi and a grey van by junction 3 on the M27 at 6.43am on Monday. The van made off from the scene after a person was injured – with police investigating.

The victim, a driver of an Audi A6, is appealing for witnesses after saying they were struck by a grey van. Posting on The News’ traffic page, the driver wrote: “(I) had an accident on this junction yesterday morning at 6.30 am with a grey van. (I’m) asking for help from anyone who was travelling at that time and has seen or got a dashcam to help me get the driver’s number plate.

“I wasn’t able to move or drive because of the accident impact and the van driver just driving off. I was in a black Audi A6 OE11 BEU. Please help me find the driver or his number plate.” A force spokesperson said: “The collision involved a car and a van. It has been reported that the van did not stop at the scene of the collision. One person suffered a minor injury. The matter is under investigation.”
