Man in his 20s dies after crash in South Gloucestershire

A young man died in the early hours of this morning at the scene of a van crash in South Gloucestershire. Emergency services rushed to the scene in Pilning at around 1.40am on Sunday (February 25), Bristol Live reports.[1]

Reports came in of a collision between a van and a parked car on Station Road. A man in his 20s, who is believed to have been the only person in the van at the time of the crash, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have informed his next of kin and a force spokesperson said they will be supported by a specially-trained officer. Officers are now looking into what caused the crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “House-to-house enquiries have taken place. We’d ask any witnesses, or people with CCTV or dashcam footage that could help our enquiries, to please contact us online or on 101 providing reference number 5224049045.

“If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224049045, or complete our online appeals form.” Pilning is about 20 minutes south of the Gloucestershire border, close to the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
