Mobile speed cameras in Hull and East Yorkshire Feb 25 to Mar 3, including Cottingham route

Speeds will be monitored on a popular road just outside Cottingham[1] in the coming days.

A mobile speed camera van will be stationed Westfield Road, near Eppleworth, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. It is one of a number of rural routes due to be visited by enforcement officers over the next week, including the A166, A614 and B1253.

Drivers can see where the mobile cameras are likely to be situated through the daily enforcement schedule on the Safer Roads Humber website[2]. However, not all locations are listed on the schedule, so motorists should take care and exercise caution when driving in the region.

Humberside Police[3], in partnership with Safer Roads Humber, will be at several other sites throughout the week that are not listed below. Humberside Police reserves the right to enforce speed limits on any road, at any time..

Mobile speed cameras will be in the following locations in Hull and East Yorkshire areas:

  • SUN Feb 25: Sites across the region.
  • MON Feb 26: Bempton Lane, Bridlington.
  • TUE Feb 27: A166, between Garrowby Lodge and Fridaythorpe.
  • WED Feb 28: B1253, between Sledmere and Octon crossroads.
  • THU Feb 29: A614 Airmyn Road, Goole.
  • FRI Mar 1: Westfield Road, Eppleworth.
  • SAT Mar 2: Sites across the region.
  • SUN Mar 3: Sites across the region.

For those crossing the Humber Bridge[4] to the South Bank, mobile cameras will be in the following locations:

  • SUN Feb 25: Sites across the region.
  • MON Feb 26: Timberland, Scunthorpe.
  • TUE Feb 27: Bradley Road, Grimsby.
  • WED Feb 28: Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, between Rowland Road and Queensway junctions.
  • THU Feb 29: B1203 Brigsley Road, Waltham.
  • FRI Mar 1: Park Farm Road, Scunthorpe.
  • SAT Mar 2: Sites across the region.
  • SUN Mar 3: Sites across the region.

Meanwhile, officers from Humberside Police are continuing to conduct roadside speed checks using handheld devices. A team was in North Cave last week following reports of speeding through the village. On that particular occasion, checks on the speeds of more than 100 vehicles found that all were within the relevant speed limit.
