A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a rush-hour crash in a major south Essex road.

Police shut off London Road (A129) in Rayleigh yesterday^[1] after a crash involving a motorbike and a van, close to Louis Drive East.

Paramedics and firefighters were also called to the scene, as the road was shut for around two hours.

The motorcyclist was sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Southend^[2] Hospital. His injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
