Pedestrian killed in HGV collision

A pedestrian in his 70s has died after he was struck by an HGV, police have said.

The accident happened shortly before 09:20 GMT on Monday in Pattishall, near Northampton.

Police said the man was struck by a white Volvo HGV travelling southbound on the A5 Watling Street when the collision happened between Northampton Road and Corn Hill Lane.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.

Police want to hear from any witnesses or people with dash cam footage of the moments leading up to the accident.
