Teen suffers serious injuries after Truro e-bike crash
A teenager has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Truro[1]. The collision between a car and an e-bike took place at the Upland Crescent and Beechwood Road on Tuesday.
Ambulance crews as well as police officers were sent to the scene of the crash which happened at around 3pm. The cyclist – an 18-year-old man – was initially believed to have suffered minor injuries.
However, having been taken to Treliske Hospital, it was found that the injuries were more serious. He was subsequently transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to receive further treatment. Next of Kin have been informed of the collision.
The 61-year-old driver of the Kia remained at the scene throughout and assisted with enquiries. Devon and Cornwall Police[4] are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
A spokesperson said: “Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank those members of the public who assisted at the scene and are appealing for any witnesses not spoken to at the location, particularly those with Dashcam footage and/or private CCTV footage, to come forward and ring 101 quoting Occurrence 50240035887.”
