Three people arrested after police flood street following ‘disturbance’ at Redcar bus stop

Three people were arrested after a “disturbance” at a Redcar bus stop saw police swarm a residential street.

Officers were called to the town’s High Street[1] after receiving a report of a man “causing a disturbance and allegedly threatening two women.” The incident, which started at 7.30pm on Sunday, then moved onto Redcar Lane.

Images from the street show swathes of police vehicles with flashing blue lights around a bus, while several officers can be seen behind an open police van. Cleveland Police[2] has now confirmed that a 52-year-old man and two women, aged 24 and 27 were arrested at the scene.

The 24-year-old woman was subsequently charged with assaulting an emergency worker and was due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 12.

Meanwhile, the other woman was charged with obstructing police and is to attend court later this month – as is the man, who was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
