Two women seriously hurt in A65 head-on smash in Rawdon

Two women have suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A65 in Rawdon[1].

At 11.58am on Thursday, February 15, West Yorkshire Police received reports of a head-on smash involving a silver Mercedes Vito van and a blue Ford Fiesta on the A65 Leeds Road in Rawdon[2].

The van had previously been involved in a crash with a scaffolding wagon, causing minor damage to the wagon, say police. The driver and passenger from the Ford Fiesta were taken to hospital with significant injuries, although they are not being treated as life-threatening.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police[4] : “Officers from the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit would like to speak to anyone who has witnessed any part of this incident. They are also asking anyone who was driving in the area around the time of this collision to check whether they have captured any relevant dashcam footage, and for local residents and businesses to check their CCTV.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or use the force’s Live Chat online, quoting log 678 of February 15.
