A1 traffic live updates as collision damages central reservation between junctions for A52 and A607

All traffic on the A1 northbound[1] is currently being held due to an accident.[2] The incident is understood to have happened around 11.20am on Wednesday, March 20, between the junctions for A607 (Harlaxton / Melton Mowbray Turn Off, Grantham) and the A52 (Grantham North / Barrowby Turn Off, Barrowby).

Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene and there are delays of at least 20 minutes. It is understood that the incident involved a heavy goods vehicle and damage has been caused to the central reservation.

National Highways East Midlands stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, that: “The #A1 northbound is now closed between the #A607 and #A52 near #Grantham due to a collision involving a HGV causing central reservation damage. Fire services are working at the scene. There are delays of at least 20 minutes in the area.”

Traffic monitoring site Inrix states: “All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on A1 Northbound from A607 (Harlaxton / Melton Mowbray Turn Off, Grantham) to A52 (Grantham North / Barrowby Turn Off, Barrowby).”
