Biker, 43, dies after crash with van on Cheshire road
A biker has died in a two-vehicle crash on the Cheshire-Staffordshire border. The 43-year-old – from Stoke-on-Trent – was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
It involved an orange and black KTM motorbike and a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A523 in Bosley, near to the river Dane. The alarm was raised just after 3pm yesterday.
Cheshire Police, North West Ambulance Service, an air ambulance, and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene. The collision happened near Hugbridge Water Treatment Works.
The 39-year-old van driver – from Staffordshire – suffered minor injuries in the smash. Sergeant Simon Degg, from Cheshire Police, said: “This was an incredibly tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“As part of our investigation, we are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. The same goes for anyone who has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may help us determine how this incident occurred.”
