CCTV image issued after woman is seriously injured in Evesham crash
A CCTV image has been released after a crash in Evesham left an elderly woman fighting for her life in hospital[1]. Police officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
Officers say that the woman, a 73-year-old pedestrian, was struck by a car on Bridge Street, near Workman Bridge[2] on Thursday, March 21. At around 11.05am the woman was crossing the road and hit by a Grey Ford Kuga which then failed to stop at the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital where she remains with life-threatening injuries. At the time, two men, aged 32 and 51, were arrested in connection with the incident but have since been released on police bail[3].
West Mercia Police have now released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to help police. The man is believed to have witnessed the hit-and-run and may have information which can assist officers with their ongoing investigations.
Detective Inspector Ollie Moore, said: “We are really keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as we believe he may have key information that could help with our investigation into the incident.
“We would also like to speak to anyone who was in Bridge Street around the time of the collision on Thursday morning who may have seen, or may have dashcam footage, of the Kuga.”
If you recognise the man, please call 01527 583766 quoting incident number 143 of March 21, 2024 . Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously on the Crimestoppers website[6].
