Driver snapped holding ‘No Photographs Please’ sign and flicking Vs at speed camera

Stunned police spotted a driver flicking the Vs and holding a sign saying 'no photographs' as he passed a speed camera. The sign, held in front of his face, went on: "You will have to speak to my agent first. Thank you."

He was holding the steering wheel and sign with one hand and making a rude V-sign with the other. But officers had the last laugh when they traced the motorist driving the red Nissan Qashqai and he was sent on a speed awareness course.

The driver had not been speeding but broke the law because he was blocking his view of the road. West Mercia's roads policing team put pictures of the driver on social media after they were caught on camera on the A458 in Morville, near Bridgnorth in Shropshire in January.

Writing on X, which used to be Twitter, the police said: "This driver decided to show what they thought as they drove past a speed camera in Shropshire recently. By doing this, they broke the law because they couldn't see the road properly."

"The 'What's Driving Us' course they had to go on because of this aims to help people understand how drivers behave and why it's important to think about other people on the road."

No caption Police were stunned when they snapped the motorist who was behind the wheel of a red Nissan Qashqai.

The driver was branded "a numpty" online. On Facebook, someone commented: "What a n**, these people who think they are above the law seem to be on the increase."

Another posted: "The world is full of them." One person remarked: "What a numpty."

Another individual suggested: "Driving without due care and attention would have been a more appropriate charge, along with not being in control of his vehicle. Idiot." And another exclaimed: "And he's got a licence? ? ? What an absolute prat."
