Hit-and-run driver flees scene of two-car Smallthorne roundabout smash
Police are hunting a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene of a two-car crash. A red Renault Clio and a dark blue or black saloon car were involved in the collision at Smallthorne roundabout on Moorland Road.
The saloon car failed to stop and left in the direction of High Lane[1] at around 8.30pm yesterday (March 4). The Clio driver was treated at the scene as a ‘precaution’.
Now Staffordshire Police[2] want to hear from anyone who witnessed the smash or may have CCTV or dashcam footage.
A force spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a non-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent involving two cars. It comes following a collision on Moorland Road, Burslem, at 8.30pm yesterday involving a red Renault Clio and a dark blue/black saloon car.

“The driver of the Clio was treated at the scene as a precaution. The driver of the saloon car did not stay at the scene and following the collision, was seen heading in the direction of High Lane.
“We are reviewing CCTV footage of the surrounding areas as part of our ongoing enquiries. If you witnessed the collision, or if you have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that may assist with our enquiries, please get in touch.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] spokesman said: “A passing ambulance crew came across a road traffic collision involving two cars at the junction of the A5272 and Hanley Road, in Smallthorne. We found a man who was the driver of the first car.
“He was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. He received self-care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene. No further patients required assessment.”
