Live: A38 blocked near after ‘major’ crash with drivers warned of ‘lethal’ conditions

A ‘major’ crash has been reported on the A38 at Plympton tonight (March 27). Eyewitnesses say the collision involved a car and a lorry on the expressway and emergency services have rushed to the scene.

According to traffic monitor Inrix, the collision took place at around 8.30pm between Chaddlewood and Plympton. The road is blocked in the Plymouth-bound direction. One local told PlymouthLive there had been a “massive accident”.

“Massive accident after Plympton car under lorry Husband drove past ambulance fire crew there,” they said.

Inrix says: “Two lanes closed due to accident on A38 Westbound from B3416 Deep Lane (Deep Lane Junction, Chaddlewood) to A374 Plymouth Road (Marsh Mills Roundabout, Crabtree).”
