M26 closed coast bound between M25 and M20 following serious crash
The M26 is closed coast bound from junction 5 of the M25 near Sevenoaks[1] and junction 3 of the M20 near Wrotham following a serious crash.
Police, firefighters, paramedics and a land unit from the Air Ambulance were called when van left the carriageway at around midnight.
Emergency crews were called to the motorway overnight.
National Highways officers are at the scene managing traffic and an investigation is continuing.
Recovery and clean up work is also needed, and there is no estimate as to when the road might reopen.
Drivers are being asked to plan ahead and consider allowing extra journey time if travelling in the area this morning.

A diversion route is in force with drivers being told to continue on the M25 anti-clockwise for approximately 7 miles to J3.
They should then exit onto the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the M20 coast bound towards Dover.
Remain on the M20 for approximately 6 miles to J2 then use the A20 to reach the M26 M2A (near Wrotham Heath) or continue eastbound to reach M20 J3 (where the M26 meets the M20).
