M5 traffic LIVE: Overturned lorry stops motorway traffic near Tewkesbury
Traffic on the M5 has been stopped by an overturned lorry. National Highways has said a lorry crash and diesel spill has resulted in stationary traffic, with long queues already building.
Two miles of congestion has already formed on approach to the incident, which is located between junctions 10 and nine on the motorway between Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. Motorists have been warned to expect delays.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, National Highways said: “Traffic is stopped on the #M5[1] between J10 #Cheltenham[2] and J9 #Tewkesbury[3] due to an overturned lorry and a diesel spillage on the carriageway. Emergency services and Traffic Officers are on scene. There are 2 miles congestion on approach to the incident.”
