Man dies in crash with lorry in Faversham

The driver of a private ambulance has been killed in a crash involving a lorry.

The collision happened on the A251 Ashford Road in Faversham, Kent, near the slip road for the London-bound carriageway of the M2, at about 14:20 GMT on Thursday.

The man, who was in his 50s, was driving a grey Ford Transit ambulance which was travelling along the A251 towards Faversham when it crashed with a DAF lorry being driven in the opposite direction, Kent Police said.

The force added: “Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the driver of the Ford Transit van was confirmed deceased.
