Motorcyclist dies in van crash near river

A motorcyclist from Stoke-on-Trent has died in a crash with a van.

It happened shortly after 15:00 GMT on Monday on the A523 near the River Dane in Bosley, near Macclesfield, Cheshire Police said.

The 43-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene while the driver of the silver Vauxhall van, a 39-year-old man from Staffordshire, was treated for minor injuries.

Sgt Simon Degg said: “This was an incredibly tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.”
