Speed cameras will be on these roads as new 20mph rules kick in

From today, Wales' default 20mph speed limit will be enforced on more roads. Until now, only roads which were 20mph before the law change were being specifically monitored by GoSafe.

Enforcement by GoSafe was stopped in September to ensure that roads, signs and drivers were all ready. From the beginning of November, enforcement in existing 20mph areas was reintroduced but only in locations that weren’t affected by the legislation change and had the correct signage in place.

From today, roads where the speed limit changed as part of the Welsh Government law are also included. The advice given on how to tell if a road is now 20mph is this: in built-up areas if you see street lights assume it's 20mph unless signed otherwise.
