Two children injured in three-vehicle A9 crash

Two children have been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the A9.

The three-vehicle accident happened north of Dalwhinnie at about 19:45 on Sunday and closed the trunk route in both directions for nine hours.

A 10-year-old girl was taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness – where her condition is described as critical but stable. A 12-year-old girl was also taken for treatment and later released.

The accident – which involved a white Citroen C4 Picasso, a white Renault Trafic van and a white Toyota Landcruiser – happened at the A899 junction for Dalwhinnie.
