Two people are in hospital with “serious injuries” after the car they were in was involved in a crash with an articulated HGV.

Police are appealing for information, witnesses and dash cam footage following the serious crash at the junction of Maylands Avenue and Maxted Road, Hemel Hempstead, on Friday at about 10.20pm.

The driver of a red Vauxhall Corsa and the passenger were taken to hospital and the lorry driver of the white HGV was unhurt.

Sergeant Jim Carmichael, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. Did you see what happened? Or did you see the events leading up to the collision? Please get in touch if you can help by emailing me at [email protected].

“I would also like to hear from anybody who captured what happened on dash cam. If you were driving in the area with a dash cam fitted, please check it and get in contact if you spot anything that might help us. Dash cam footage can be uploaded to https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net?ref=CITIN1.”
